Photofacial rejuvenation is a no downtime procedure using Broad Band Light (BBL) to diminish or remove abnormal skin changes that develop with age such as redness, broken capillaries, and brown spots.  Photofacial rejuvenation also reduces fine lines and pore size, and improves skin elasticity.

Broad Band Light (BBL) is one of the most powerful intense pulsed light devices in the cosmetic laser market.

BBL uses bright flashes of light to restore your skin’s natural tone and beauty as the skin becomes smoother and has a more youthful appearance.

The Forever Young BBL treatment protocol is a specially designed protocol using specific wavelengths of broad band light, stimulating natural cell growth in your skin.

Studies at Stanford University using this device and protocol showed changes in the gene expression in treated skin associated with aging longevity, and increased life span. This translates into skin that looks firmer and more youthful following treatment.

The Benefits of BBL Treatments

BBL treatments safely and effectively treat the following:

  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Rosacea
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Broken capillaries
  • Telangiectasia (vascular birthmarks)
  • Melasma

BBL light treatments can be performed in the following areas:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Legs

What to Expect

BBL photofacial treatments deliver high-intensity pulses of light that penetrate the subsurface skin layers to reduce melanin, the dark pigment of the skin, or hemoglobin, the red blood cells in blood vessels.

For optimum results, BBL Photofacial treatments are usually performed in a series of three to seven treatments at three to four week intervals. BBL photofacial treatments are simple 30-60 minute no downtime in office procedures.

Your provider will customize your treatment based on your skin type and aesthetic goals.  Ultrasound gel will be used on the treatment area to ensure best results.

Multiple pulses are delivered to the skin; many patients describe this as feeling like snapping a rubber band against the skin.  The treated skin may appear red immediately after treatment.  This is normal and will fade over an hour.  Makeup may be applied immediately after treatment.
